CAN MY PATIENT DRIVE?
This is a question physicians face frequently, and its implications for patients, families, and the society are potentially huge. For many known conditions we have evidence, or guidelines to direct us. Where guidelines are lacking, common sense often leads us to an obvious solution. Either way, the worst way to deal with this issue, when it is present, is to ignore it.
There is a evolving body of evidence and guidelines that help us with this issue. The blog will discuss some of them, but this issue is important enough to merit its own page on our site. On this page, we will attempt to maintain:
- a running summary of current opinions regarding the medical right to drive
- links to key articles and guidelines, and
- practical suggestions and approaches
